Case study
JBER Repair of Mechanical Infrastructure
BAS & VAV Upgrades
Patrick Mechanical Industries (PMI) was contracted to support a critical infrastructure rehabilitation project at the JBER medical complex in Anchorage, Alaska. The project involved a complete upgrade of the building’s automation systems, including the replacement of 806 failing control valves, VAV boxes, and flow meters. These systems are essential for maintaining proper airflow, temperature control, and overall operational efficiency in a 24/7 medical environment.
The work was commissioned by the 673 Medical Support Squadron in partnership with general contractor J&J Worldwide. PMI provided project management, field leadership, and technical execution for all mechanical scopes.

Al Ketzler Senior Building
Patrick Mechanical Industries (PMI) completed a full HVAC infrastructure upgrade at the Al Ketzler Senior Building (AKSB), a multi-story, partially occupied residential facility operated by the Tanana Chiefs Conference in Fairbanks, Alaska. This project focused on replacing aging mechanical systems to improve indoor air quality, enhance occupant comfort, and ensure long-term system reliability in a facility that supports elder care and independent living.
Working under GHEMM Company, Inc., PMI led the mechanical contracting scope from design support through completion, navigating labor and material challenges in a tight construction window while maintaining system availability for residents.

Case study
FTW467 – Black Rapids Training Facility Sewer and Fire Alarm Upgrades
Patrick Mechanical Industries (PMI) was selected as the prime contractor for a major rehabilitation of Building 2019 at the Black Rapids Training Facility, a remote U.S. Army installation near Delta Junction, Alaska. This mission-critical facility is home to specialized cold weather warfare training and remains in active use year-round. The project involves a full replacement of the sewer system, installation of new bathroom facilities, and integration of a new fire alarm system—all completed while the building remained operational.
